The award winning Cairns Tropical Zoo is located on the Captain Cook Highway at Palm Cove, just 20 minutes north of Cairns. The zoo is six hectares of tropically landscaped gardens featuring a natural habitat displaying Australia's unique animals and some international exotic animals. During the day visitors have the opportunity to 'Cuddle a Koala', a large python, or a small crocodile (extra cost applies and includes a top quality souvenir digital photograph). This is a great place to get close to the animals during the fantastic wildlife presentations which are all included in the entry price. Hand feed kangaroos and wallabies and visit one of Australia's best reptile displays. The daily program features entertaining and educational presentations. Enjoy the only Snake Show that features the world's most venomous snake; be amazed at the keeper 'hand feeding' giant saltwater crocodiles, and see Queensland's first Free Flight Bird Show featuring many species of birds including eagles. Meet the only Red Pandas in Queensland and learn about them and other endangered species during the fascinating Endangered Exotics presentation. And don't miss the Mystery Tour - it's different every day!
