Lake Eacham Circuit in Crater Lakes National Park provides ample opportunity to enjoy this small patch of rainforest and its rich wildlife.
Lake Eacham is a popular swimming and picnic spot. This volcanic crater lake is known as a maar. It supports several types of upland rainforest and a wide range of flora and fauna.
There are several viewing platforms to see the fish and turtles in the lake. This 2.8 kilometre walk travels around the lake on a well formed path. The views across the lake are spectacular and the atmosphere serene.
Visitors can also do a short self-guided walk through the forest to the ranger station. More than 180 bird species have been recorded in the park.
