Fitzroy Island National Park is rugged and diverse with granite outcrops, open woodlands, rainforest, mangroves and coral beaches. This continental island was connected to the mainland before sea levels rose. The fringing reefs and coral beaches are protected as part of the Great Barrier Reef and Great Barrier Reef Coast marine parks.
The summit track leads to the summit of Fitzroy Island (269 metres) and amazing views of the island, reefs and mainland.
