Fourteen youth/adventure operators have joined TTNQ for the Cairns Backpacker Roadshow, promoting the region along the East Coast.
The roadshow started Monday adn takes in Brisbane, Surfers Paradise, Byron Bay and Sydney before arriving in Melbourne where they will join the 2008 Adventure Travel and Backpacker Expo.
On each stop the roadshow will showcase the Tropical North at evening functions for backpacker travel agenices like STA Travel.
The roadshow aims to take a tast of the tropics south and show travel agents howmuch fun the region offers.
TTNQ ceo Rob Giason said the youth adventure market sector was important to the region.
"Following on from our recent international youth adventure marketing activity in London, this roadshow and expo are a great way to make direct contact with the travel agents who are offering informatino and advice about Australian destinations and making bookings for Australian and international youth adventure travellers as they move up and down the east coast," he said.
"We attract aroudn 200,000 backpackers each year and they stay considerably longer than regular holiday visitors."
