Judging

The TNQ Tourism Awards program is co-ordinated by Tourism Tropical North Queensland and A List Events International.

Judges are business people from throughout the TNQ region.They are not necessarily directly involved in the tourism industry, but have good knowledge of the industry. 
Judges take their responsibility very seriously and these dedicated and conscientious people provide their time on a voluntary basis using the best of their
knowledge and experience to conscientiously work for the benefit of the tourism industry.
Judges are divided into groups or panels of judges with each group judging a number of award categories.
Judges independently read all submissions in their allocated categories.
One judge from each group will conduct the site inspection for the entry and will report back to the group his/her assessment.
All entrants are interviewed by their panel of judges at the same time with final scoring decided following the interview.
Judges sign a confidentiality agreement prior to looking at any submissions and cannot discuss any information in any nomination.  Judges will not judge any category they have any conflict of interest with.
Official arbitrators are present at all times during the interview and final deliberation process. Last year this was KPMG.

Presentation Evening
Finalists and winners will be announced at the gala presentation evening and night of industry celebration at the Cairns Convention Centre on Saturday 31 October 2009.

Nominations

All entrants in the 2009 Tropical North Queensland Tourism Awards must complete and return the nomination form by Friday 19 June. 

Nomination fee payments ($110 per entry) must be included. 
Upon acceptance of your nomination, your fee will be processed and a receipt issued. Nominees will be notified of acceptance by Friday 26 June 2009.

Submissions must comply with the Rules for Entry guidelines and all questions must be answered in relation to the category entered.
Submissions not complying with the rules for entry will be penalised.
