Judging
The TNQ Tourism Awards program is co-ordinated by Tourism Tropical North Queensland. Please direct all enquiries regarding judging of the awards process to joannap@alistevents.com.au or phone 4031 6200.
Judges are business people from throughout the TNQ region.They are not necessarily directly involved in the tourism industry, but have good knowledge of the industry. Judges take their responsibility very seriously and these dedicated and concientious people provide their time on a voluntary basis using the best of their knowledge and experience to concientiously work for the benefit of the tourism industry.
We have 12 judges divided up into four panels of three. Each person in the panel independently reads all nominations in a particular category. Nominees are then invited in for an interview to discuss their product. All scores are tallied and the judging panel discusses all elements of the scoring process before a winner is selected.
Judges sign a confidentiality agreement prior to looking at any submissions and can not discuss any information in any nomination. Judges will not judge any category they have any conflict of interest with.
BDO Kendalls are the official Tropical North Queensland Tourism Awards arbitrators and will be present at all times during the official judging process.
Presentation Evening
Finalists and winners will be announced at the gala presentation evening and night of industry celeberation at the Cairns Convention Centre on Saturday 11th October, 2008.
Nominations
All entrants in the 2008 Tropical North Queensland Tourism Awards must complete and return the nomination form by Friday 13th June. Please ensure the form is accompanied by a cheque, to cover the experience fee (if applicable) and nomination fee, made payable to Tourism Tropical North Queensland. A receipt will be forwarded to you on receipt of the nomination payment.
Submissions
Submissions must be forwarded to the Tourism Tropical North Queensland office by 5pm on Monday 4th August, 2008.
Submissions must comply with the Rules for Entry guidelines and all questions must be answered in relation to the category entered. Submissions not complying with the rules for entry will be penalised.
