Getting about Tropical North Queensland is easy. Choose your mode of transport - everything from rental cars to bus services, taxis and limousines to aircraft, boats and trains. Bus shuttle services regularly pick up and set down travellers at most hotels and accommodation establishments. Many hotels and motels offer private transfer buses, so check with your travel agent when booking your accommodation or at the concierge of the hotel.

Major Car Rental companies are represented at the airport, and there are many additional rental companies with offices in Cairns and larger towns. Reservations prior to arrival are recommended. Generally, any current driver's license is acceptable for driving in Queensland. Interstate and international licenses are valid for a period of three months only.
